10k Running+

I have now run three 10Ks. It certainly feels great to graduate to the 10K distance from being an avid 5K fan.

My first 10K was the Marinecorp Marathon 10K in Washington DC. It was back in October of 2011. My PR for that race was 1hr and 15 min or so. I noticed that soon after I started to run I was having pain in my shin. So I had to walk a bit. Soon after it felt like it may have gone away. It was a great run with amazing crowd. The marines lined up on the both sides of the entire course made it so special.

My second 10K was Sporting Life 10K in Toronto last year May. This was special for another reason. I had just returned form my one week trip to Europe. While there I trained a little bit in Barcelona and Rome. I ran by the beach in Barcelona and ran by the coliseum in Rome.  My personal best was 56+ minutes. A whopping 15 plus minutes better than the first one. The problem I had in my first race was not there for sure.

My third one was just yesterday May 11, 2014. I ran alongside of 27000 other runners on a warm gorgeous Toronto morning. It was perfect weather for running. My personal best now with this race for 10K is 53.40 Sec. Me happy. My training involved a lot of running on the treadmill. I did many many hours of interval run. At the end it paid off.
